My Story
How one life changed everything
My name is Alysha, and Animals Without Borders began not with a plan, but with one decision: to say yes when it mattered most.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt a deep connection to animals—especially the ones left unseen and unheard. Traveling through different countries, I saw suffering I couldn’t ignore.
When I moved to Mexico full-time, I met Cody—a little dog with two broken legs and a heart still full of hope. I didn’t have a shelter. I didn’t have resources. I just knew I couldn’t walk away. Saving Cody showed me something powerful: this wasn’t just about one dog. It was about answering a bigger call.
Friends, family—even strangers—stepped forward to help, asking me to keep going. And I knew: I can help. I have to help.
Today, Animals Without Borders is built on pure heart—no salaries, no overhead—just a promise to never turn away from an animal in need.
